<p>The hull is for a sailing yacht with a multiple-jointed frame, having a straight keel housing. This acts as a datum surface during building and as a support surface when the vessel is out of the water, in additional to strengthening the hull. It also favourably affects the centre of gravity, and can serve as a storage space for drinking or cooling water or ballast. The hull can be of shallow draught for maximum speed, with an overhanging cone bow containing the water tank and chain locker and giving maximum protection against high waves.</p> |
