PRODUCTION OF SOLID POLYPHENYLENE OXIDE

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled solid, especially a film-shaped solid at a low temperature without using calendering process, by compounding a polyphenylene oxide, a styrene-based thermoplastic polymer and triallyl isocyanurate at specific ratios. CONSTITUTION:Not less than 7wt% and less than 93wt% polyphenylene oxide (PPO) is compounded with >=7wt% and <93wt% styrene-based thermoplastic polymer (STP) and <=70wt% triallyl isocyanurate (TAIC) and/or triallyl cyanurate. A film-forming polyphenylene oxide composition can be produced by this process.
