PRODUCTION OF SOLID POLYPHENYLENE OXIDE

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled solid, especially a film-shaped solid at a low temperature without using calendering process, by compounding a polyphenylene oxide, polystyrene and polybutadiene at specific ratios. CONSTITUTION:Not less than 8wt% and less than 90wt% polyphenylene oxide (PPO) is compounded with >=10wt% and <92wt% polystyrene (PS) and <=24wt% polybutadiene (PB). The preferable range of the composition is the region B hatched with the lines rising leftward and overlapped with the region A hatched with the lines rising rightward and the most preferable range is the region C hatched with vertical lines in the region B.
