摘要

NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I (n is 2-9). USE:A liquid crystal material. It is used in an electro-optical liquid crystal device capable of constituting a displaying element and light-modulation element, and increases the absolute value of dielectric anisotropy when mixed to known liquid crystal composition for double-frequency driving without causing problems such as the increase of cross-frequency. PREPARATION:The compound of formula I can be produced by reacting 4-[4'-(omega- monofluorohexyloxy)benzoyloxy]-benzoyl chloride of formula II with 3-chloro-4- cyanophenol in a solvent such as chloroform in the presence of triethylamine at room temperature for 15hr.
