PURPOSE:To keep the laminated layer thickness of a product constant without the variation in the plate thickness by detecting the stroking quantity of the cylinder to receive the iron core pieces to be laminated with being drawn into a die and by resetting based on this stroking quantity and the necessary laminating layer thickness. CONSTITUTION:A cutting signal is outputted in case of the counted value reaching the pre-set value Nc by counting the timing signal to generate on each press stroke of the strip material 1 with the projection for calking in the producing device of the layer built iron core to draw the iron core piece 9 inside die 8 by a punch 16 and to calk each other with laminating iron core pieces 9 on the cradle 20 of the piston rod 19 of cylinder 18 after forming the projection for calking on a strip material 1 by punch 10. The position of said piston rod 19 is measured and the stroke length DELTAP of the piston rod 19 during said timing signal being generated in pieces K is found. The mean plate thickness t=DELTAP/K of said iron core piece 9 is calculated accordingly. The new number N of the target laminating pieces is calculated by dividing the necessary laminating thickness H by this mean plate thickness (t). In case of said counted value reaching said N the counted value thereof is reset.
