PURPOSE:The titled preservative, containing liquid paraffin, surfactant, organic solvent and chemical for wood, having improved permeability into wood, perme able into the deep part of the wood, exhibiting higher permeation force than oils even in the case of dried wood, and capable of forming a paste with water. CONSTITUTION:A highly permeable wood preservative obtained by adding a chemical for wood, e.g. chlordene or chlorpyrifos, in an amount exhibiting the drug effect to a composition consisting of 5-30pts.wt. liquid paraffin. n- or iso-paraffin or a paraffin mixture thereof, 5-15pts.wt. surfactant, e.g. nonionic surfactant and 90-55pts.wt. organic solvent, e.g. alcohol, ketone or kerosine. The above-mentioned preservative is suitable for preservation treat ment of wood, e.g. particularly mothproofing, and controlling, antifungal treat ment of wood, etc. EFFECT:Treatment can be carried out suitably even in a place where the wood preservation treatment is difficult such as a wood part with high humidity or hidden site and the preservative forms a pasty viscous liquid by adding water suitably thereto. The paste can be prepared at site at the time of use, and the preservative is safe without causing dispersion of contents, etc.
