PURPOSE:To enable the lowering of machining precision, the simplification of assembling work and the manufacturing of small diameter bearing by forming the bearing housing in which a turning shaft is supported by foil with the plural number of movable elements. CONSTITUTION:Foil 3a-3d formed so as to be wound up along the surface of a turning shaft 1, and movable elements 2a-2d which are capable of far-and- near adjustment in relation to the foil are arranged. When movable elements 2a-2d are adjusted to form a uniform wedge-form clearances 5 between the turning shaft 1 and foil 3a-3d, the turning shaft 1 is brought into noncontact by the dynamic pressure due to high speed current at the time of a high speed rotation. Accordingly, high machining precision becomes unnecessary and the assembling work is simplified, so that the manufacturing of small diameter bearing can be enabled at low cost. Furthermore, the space in which the shaft is insertedly penetrated can be made not to be equilateral polygon, and the part in which foil 3a-3d are not provided along the shaft can be made partially to a curved surface. |
