PURPOSE:To easily transfer a toner image and separate recording paper without damaging a recording medium by generating electrostatic power for transfer on a transfer roll or transfer belt, and forming suction holes and sucking the recording paper. CONSTITUTION:An electrostatic suction roll 9 consists of a cylindrical roll body 20 having numbers of suction holes 21 at its periphery, and the roll body 20 is connected to a transfer electric power 31 which generates static electricity having the opposite polarity from toner and covered with a seal 32 except its outer peripheral surface contacting recording paper 2. A toner image formed on a photosensitive drum 1 is transferred to recording paper 2 with the electrostatic power of the electrostatic suction roll 9. The recording paper 2 in the process of transfer is sucked through suction holes 21 and when the transfer is completed, the paper is easily separated from the photosensitive drum 1 and guided to a fixation part 10 through a guide 33. Namely, the recording paper 2 is easily separated from the roll body 20 by having its front end brought into contact with the edge 32a of the seal 32. |
