PURPOSE:A dehydrator equipped with rotary buckets which can function as a filter is employed to effect water-solid separation of coal containing an excessive amount of water to enable advantageous classification and crushing in high efficiency. CONSTITUTION:Coal is fed from hopper 1, through metering feeder 2 and conveyer 3 to dehydrator 4, then allowed to blow through air duct 5 onto the rotary busket 6 through which water and a part of powdery coal can pass at a high speed. The coal is crushed and simultaneously separated into solid and liquid by centrifugation, resulting in reduction of water content down to about 5-6%. The solid part is sent by means of conveyer 8 to a sieving unit 9 and undersize particles are fed into the coke oven. The oversize particles are sent to the crusher 11, then to classifier 12 and the undersize particles are fed to the coke oven.
