PURPOSE:To replenish smoothly and surely a molten metal to each part of a casting by enclosing the inside wall of the riser part of a casting mold with an exothermic material, capping the open part thereof with a molten metal pressurizing device and exerting pressure to the open surface of the rises after pouring. CONSTITUTION:The casting mold 2 is calcined to a prescribed temp. and the riser part 3 applied with the exothermic material 4 on the inside surface is set thereon. Such mold 2 is put into a metallic flash 5 and is backed up by dry sand 6, then the molten metal is poured into the mold. Exothermic powder 7 is sprayed on the molten metal surface of the riser to the prescribed height right after the pouring. The molten metal pressurizing device 9 is set on the riser part 3 to cap the open part 10 thereof before strength is generated in the solidified metal of the molten metal. Air maintained under the prescribed pressure is then blown into a chamber 11 to exert the static air pressure to the molten metal. The pressurization is continued until the solidification of the molten metal in the riser part 3 ends. The pressure is kept at about 0.5-1.0kg/cm<2>. The feed metal amt. is thereby minimized and the yield is improved.
