PURPOSE:To be able to measure simply and display a size of a diameter and a deviation from cylindricity of a cylindrical member with a high accuracy and over a wide range of size while the cylindrical member is being kept mounted on a machine tool by connecting a micro-processor to contact-needle type displacement meters located at a fixed distance and keeping two contact feelers projected from the angle section of a V-shape groove towards inside of the groove. CONSTITUTION:Beneath the lower surface of a block 1, a V-shape groove to be mounted on a cylindrical member 2 is placed along the axial direction and on the upper surface, two electric contact-needle type displacement meters 4, 4 to detect a surface position of the member 2 from a displacement of a contact feeler 5 are installed. Two contact feelers 5, 5 are constituted so as to be located on the angle section of the V-shape groove at a fixed distance and to contact with the surface of the member 2. And the diameter of the member 2 is obtained based on a dimensional value input in a micro-processor 7 which is connected to the displacement meters 4, 4 through an interface 6 when a standard cylindrical member is measured and an output value detected by the displacement meters 4, 4. And, at the same time, the deviation from cylindricity is obtained from diameter values measured at two points and is displayed at a display device 8.
