PURPOSE:To make variations in both tread and camber of a rear wheel very small, by specifying the arrangement of two arms for connecting the front and rear sections of a wheel support to the vehicle body, and the relationship between the wheel support and the support points of a strut bar and the arms. CONSTITUTION:An independent suspension device for a rear wheel 1 comprises a wheel support 2 for rotatably supporting the rear wheel 1, vertically and longitudinally swingable two arms 5, 6 extending widthwise of a vehicle body 7, for connecting the front and rear sections of the wheel support 2 to the vehicle body 7, and a strut bar 8 longitudinally extending, for resiliently connecting the carrier 4 of the wheel support 2, etc., to the vehicle body 7. In the above-mentioned arrangement, the arms are arranged substantially in parallel with each other while the straight line connecting between the middle points of the arms 5, 6 is inclined at an angle of theta toward the front of the vehicle body. Further, the vehicle support 2 side support point (b) of the strut bar 8 is positioned forward of the vehicle body 7 further from the middle point between the vehicle support 2 side support points (d, f) of the of the arms 5, 6. |
