摘要 PURPOSE:To enhance the running stability of a vehicle upon turning, by computing a desired roll angle which makes the distribution of load on right and left wheels substantially uniform, in accordance with a detected value of a lateral acceleration exerted to the vehicle body, and by controlling vehicle level control means in accordance with the result of the computation. CONSTITUTION:A microcomputer 5 controls vehicle level control means 2a through 2d respectively provided to vehicle four-wheels A through D, that is, the microcomputer 5 is adapted to calculate a lateral acceleration in accordance with the outputs of a vehicle speed sensor 3 and a steering sensor 4, and then to calculate, in accordance with the lateral acceleration and the outputs of roll angle sensors 7a, 7b, a desired roll angle which makes the distribution of load on the vehicle wheels A through D substantially equal, that is, which rolls the vehicle body in the direction opposite to the roll direction of the vehicle body due to the centrifugal force of the vehicle body. Further, it receives output signals from base height switches 6a, 6b, and controls the vehicle level control means 2a through 2d such that the vehicle level on the side opposing the lateral acceleration is made to be lowest in order to attain the above-mentioned roll angle.
