PURPOSE:To obtains a ruler to be able to draw a circular arc of any radius of curvature by loading bending moments of the same size but in the reverse direction at both ends of an elastic body bending beam. CONSTITUTION:An elastic body bending beam 1 having a constant cross-sectional area, section modulus, height, Young's modulus and radius of curvature in each cross section along the principal axis is connected at its both ends to levers 11, of which respective one ends have rotatory supports and at least one of which has a movable and rotatory support 9 free to travel in horizontal direction. By applying bending forces on the levers 11 so that bending moments of the same size but in the reverse direction are loaded on the both ends of the beam 1, a uniform bending moment is inevitably distributed in the beams 1 and an elastic deformation with a given radius of curvature corresponding to the loaded bending moment can be obtained reasonably. Therefore, by knowing a radius of curvature of a bending beam from a fixed equation, a bending moment is adjusted and then a beam can be elastically deformed to have an objective circular arc shape which enables to draw a circular arc, using it as a guide.
