PURPOSE:To improve the paper feed and transport performance, and to cut down the cost by improving the rubber hardness and surface condition of a separation roller and a feed roller. CONSTITUTION:The quality of a material of a separation roller 9 is improved to have good adhesion to a document. As the material, rubber is used, and the hardness is about 25 deg.-30 deg. to be comparatively soft. The surface condition of the rubber is a little coarse to have good adhesion. Further, in order to hold down the total cost, though the separation roller 9 is adapted to transport the document to a position A with good adhesion to the document, a feed roller 10 and a transport roller 11 are formed by low-priced polychloroprene rubber having a hardness of about 60 deg., and pressed to each other to transport the document. An idle roller 23 is formed by resin because it has no effect directly upon the paper feed and transport performance. Thus, the paper feed and transport performance can be improved, with the scale merit of the conventional mechanism for supporting a feed roller and a separation roller on the same shaft.
