PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic sensitive body easily preparable and having high sensitivity in a short wavelength region by forming a layer contg. a specified disazo pigment as an effective component on a conductive substrate. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive layer contg. a disazo pigment as an electrostatic charge generating material, represented by formula I, A being a coupler residue, and R being H or lower alkyl, is formed on the conductive substrate. As the coupler of formula I, e.g., an aromatic hydrocarbon compd. having an OH group, such as phenol or naphthol, heterocyclic compd. having an amino group, and an aromatic hydrocarbon compd. or a heterocyclic compd. having OH and amino groups, such as aminonaphthol, are used, and above all, ones having an OH group is preferable. A photosensitive layer 192 composed essentially of the disazo pigment 13, a charge transfer material, and an insulating binder is formed on the conductive substrate 11 to obtain the electrophotographic sensitive body. |
