PURPOSE:To aim at a sharp improvement in a rate of fuel consumption, by installing an intermittent feeding device which feeds an engine with a fuel quantity becoming a yet larger air-fuel ratio than the case of a theoretical air-fuel ratio in an intermittent manner, in case of a device controlling a fuel feeding device to run the internal-combustion engine in and around the theoretical air-fuel ratio. CONSTITUTION:On the basis of output of a running state detecting device C2 for giving load information of an internal-combustion engine, a controlling device C3 judges the engine E in and around a theoretical air-fuel ratio and such an air-fuel ratio as making it an optimum running state whereby controls a fuel feeding device C1 according to the judged result. In the above devices, there is provided with an intermittent feeding device C4 which alters a controlled variable controlling the fuel feeding device C1 of the controlling device C3 and also alters the furl feed to the engine E so as to become such an air-fuel ratio. And, the internal-combustion engine E is intermittently operated at an extremely lean air-fuel ratio whereby a sharp improvement in a rate of fuel consumption comes to fruition.
