This invention involves a snow chain made of plastic elements, which has no steel chains whatsoever for clamping the same onto the vehicle tyre, having instead a steel ring on the outside of the tyre and, provided on the inside, a tensioning cable with triangular loops for the plastic elements. For the purpose of better gripping action, gripping bars or spikes are provided in the horizontal gripping bars.
