PURPOSE:To measure the radius of curvature rapidly and with a high accuracy by forming the contact part for a surface to be measured of at least one side fixed contact linearly in the direction crossing to the line linking both fixed contacts. CONSTITUTION:The titled instrument has a measuring base 14 to be provided with two fixed contacts 12 and 13 which can abut on a surface 11 to be measured, is provided with a measuring needle 15 that is supported to the base 14 and abutted on and displaced to the surface 11 to be measured, and has a detecting part 16 to detect the displacing quantity of the measuring needle 15. The detecting part 16 can convert a displacing quantity (h) of the measuring needle 15 to an electronical signal. Next, contact parts 12A and 13A for the surface 11 to be measured of both contacts 12 and 13 are formed in the linear shape extending in the direction orthogonal to the line which links both contacts 12 and 13. A straight line displaying part 17 displays the results of detecting the detecting part 16, namely, the displacing quantity (h) of the measuring needle 15. Based upon the detecting signal of the detecting part 16 and the arranging span of both contacts 12 and 13 set beforehand by a span input dial 18, the radius of curvature of the surface 11 to be measured is calculated. |
