CONSTITUTION:A high speed rotating motor 2 applies a rotating speed enough to float a floating head 4 to a spindle 1 for fitting a magnetic disk 3. A rotating force of a low speed rotating motor 9 is transferred through a roller 10 and a direct-acting solenoid 12 to a disk 8 for a rim drive, and the spindle 1 is rotated at the low speed. At the time of high speed rotation, the motor 2 is energized and the disk 8 for the rim drive to rotate in a single body with the spindle 1 is rotated, and at such a time, a roller 10 to rub and contact with the disk is separated from the disk, and further, the motor 9 is released from the electric power source, and therefore, the spindle 1 executes the high speed rotation. On the other hand, when the switch is changed, the low speed rotation is executed, the motor 9 is energized, the roller 10 is connected with pressure to the disk and the motor 2 is released electrically.
