PURPOSE:To stand the practical travelling for a long period and to execute the air/fuel ratio detection ranging over the wide scope by providing a disk- shaped air/fuel ratio detecting element inside the edge surface of a bottomed cylindrical ceramics member and supporting by a cylindrical ceramics heater. CONSTITUTION:A disk-shaped air/fuel ratio detecting element 11 is formed by providing perforated film-shaped electrodes 11a and 11b on the both surfaces of an oxygen ion conductive solid electrolyte 11c, and provided inside the edge surface of a bottomed cylindrical ceramics member 17 through a dish type washer-shaped heat-resistant conductive member 12. An air/fuel ratio detecting element 11 is constructed to support through a ring-shaped heat-resistant conductive member 14 and a horn-shaped heat-resistant conductive member 15 by a cylindrical ceramics heater 16. Even when the detecting device is exposed to a wide and drastic exhaust gas temperature, the temperature of the detecting element 11 is kept constant by a ceramic heater 16 and a ceramic member 17 having a gas distributing port. Thus, the durability is increased, and the ratio can be widely detected from a rich area to a lean area. |
