Load-bearing structures which exhibit retaining elements and are intended for glass panes are to be improved to the effect that, with only low outlay, a reliable securing means and good sealing and easy exchange of the panes is ensured. For this purpose, the invention proposes to provide toughened-safety-glass panes with holes, to screw the panes, prestressed and sealed with soft seals, to the retaining elements, and to seal the next pane down against a support and to seal the next pane up by means of U-seals.
