PURPOSE:To suppress the fluctuation of the ion concn. in a migration chamber by making countercurrent the flowing direction of the buffer soln. to be passed in a pair of electrode chambers and generating circulation flow in a liquid mixture contg. the charge materials in the migration chamber. CONSTITUTION:The electrode chambers 7, 8 and the migration chamber 13 segmented by semipermeable membranes 2, 3 are provided in an electrolytic cell. The flowing direction of the buffer soln. to be supplied into the electrode chambers 7, 8 is made opposite and the temp. of the buffer soln. to be supplied to the electrode chamber 7 is made lower than the temp. of the buffer soln. to be supplied to the electrode chamber 8. A temp. difference arises in the liquid mixture in the chamber 13 as well and the circulation flow is generated. The pH of the buffer soln. in the chamber 13 is so adjusted that the charge materials A, B have opposite electric charges. The liquid mixture is then injected into the chamber 13 and the same amt. is discharged therefrom, by which the materials A, B are separated. The fluctuation of the ion concn. in the chamber 13 is thus so controlled as to be suppressed and the separating power is improved. |
