PURPOSE:To obtain inexpensively an adhesive having excellent adhesion, by dissolving a lignocellulose material such as plasticized wood in a polyhydric alcohol and adding epichlorohydrin thereto to effect a condensation reaction to thereby effect glycidyl etherification. CONSTITUTION:10-1,000pts. lignocellulose material such as plasticized wood by introducing a substituent such as an acid anhydride or acetyl group into hydroxyl group and pref. a solvolysis accelerating catalyst (e.g. aluminum chloride) are added to 100pts. arom. or aliph. polyhydric alcohol (e.g. propylene glycol) or phenol (e.g. bisphenol A) and dissolved therein to effect simultaneously solvolysis. Epichlorohydrin is added thereto to effect a condensation reaction to thereby effect glycidyl etherification. In this way, the desired plasticized lignocellulose/epoxy resin adhesive can be obtd. by effectively utilizing wooden waste from a paper-making process.
