PURPOSE:To provide the titled composition effective to suppress the proliferation of even an insecticide-resistant cockroach for a long period, by using ethyl (2E, 4E)-3,7,11-trimethyl-2,4-dodecadienoate and a fumigation medium as essential components. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition contains ethyl (2E, 4E)-3,7,11- trimethyl-2,4-dodecadienoate having growth-inhibiting effect and sterilizing effect in combination with a fumigation medium. the fumigation medium is one or more compounds generating gas by heating or ignition and promoting the dissipation and diffusion of the active component, e.g. hydroxyammonium oxalate, L-ascorbic acid, glucono-delta-lactone, etc. The above active component may be used in combination with a fumigation agent. The amount of the fumigation medium is preferably about 1-200pts.wt. per 1pt. of the sum of the active component and the optional fumigation agent in said composition.
