The bearing capacity of a roadway support system for underground mining and tunnelling is essentially formed by a rapidly setting construction material which can be received in formwork. To produce alternatively a yielding or rigid support system, double fabric sheets (4, 5) are provided for receiving the construction material, which fabric sheets (4, 5) can be adapted to the respective roadway cross-section, are subdivided into tubes (2) transversely to the roadway axis, can be positioned at the rock, can be connected to one another in the longitudinal direction of the roadway via connecting elements and are designed as support elements (1), the individual tubes (2) of the support elements (1) being provided with filling openings (6). <IMAGE>
