In this method, the luminous information and the chrominance information are recorded on the same tracks with different azimuth angles. First, the chrominance information is recorded with great depth of penetration and then the luminance information is recorded with a lesser depth of penetration in the recording medium. An arrangement for carrying out the method according to the invention exhibits two pairs of heads on one head wheel.
