PURPOSE:To make the opening of a choke valve performable automatically, by locking a metal device (lever) provided with a long hole, to a valve shaft of the choke valve, while engaging one end of an opening adjusting device consisting of a from memory alloy, with the long hole. CONSTITUTION:One end of a metal device (level) 4, forming a slender oval hole (long hole 3) at the free end side is locked to an end part of a valve shaft 2, piercing through a suction pipe and projecting outward, of a choke valve 1. In addition, there is provided with a torsional spring two-way form memory alloy 5 attaching an intermediate part to the engine side with a bolt, and an engaged part at its end is engaged with the said hole 3. According to this method, at the time of engine cold, the choke valve 1 is closed due to action of the form memory 5 but when engine warmup takes place, the choke valve 1 comes to be automatically opened by action of the form memory alloy 5.
