PURPOSE:To suppress increase of open circuit voltage after storing by adding aluminum chloride or lithium aluminum chloride to nonaqueous electrolyte. CONSTITUTION:A negative electrode using lithium or lithium alloy as an active material, nonaqueous electrolyte and a positive electrode are provided and aluminum chloride or lithium aluminum chloride is added to the nonaqueous electrolyte. When aluminum chloride or lithium aluminum chloride is added to the electrolyte, the aluminum ion is replaced with lithium metal, a lithium- aluminum film is formed on the surface of lithium negative electrode. Even when water enters from outside, generation of hydroxide lithium insulation film is suppressed by the lithium-aluminum film. Moreover, the aluminum ion reacts with impurity and reactive part in the positive electrode and thereby increase of open circuit voltage after the storing resulting from existence of them can be suppressed. It is particularly effective in the 1.5V system battery. |
