For the purpose of image scanning at a wavelength preselected using an interference graduated filter in a microphotometer, there is provided between a slit limiter, which can be displaced for image scanning, and an interference graduated filter, which can be displaced for wavelength preselection, a first projection lens which projects the pupil of the microscope objective onto the interference graduated filter. A second projection lens is provided between the interference graduated filter and a photomultiplier, and projects the image of the pupil on the interference graduated filter onto the light-sensitive layer of the photomultiplier. The smallest radiation cross-sections within which the image scanning can be carried out without having to accept relatively large measurement errors are obtained in this way.
