The fastening of a relatively thick-walled wheel tyre made of tough, abrasion-resistant material to the thin edge of the wheel disc made of elastic material entails considerable problems. In the rotational motion of the wheel set, the geometry (roundness) of the wheel tyre and the wheel disc constantly changes. This triggers between the two parts a continuously changing deformation which is represented in the form of micromovements. Despite the parts of the wheel tyre and the wheel disc being prestressed, radial movements can be determined, they are shown in the form of a radial migration of the parts relative to one another. It is not possible to use known connecting parts such as screws and rivets because they considerably reduce the dynamic strength of the wheel tyre. The same applies to welded joints. The invention here makes use of means of positively connecting the two parts while excluding connecting elements. For this purpose, there are made in the neutral region of the wheel tyre recesses into which the edge of the wheel tyre is moulded. The resulting structures have a structurally elastic character and can thus withstand the micromovements and afford a higher operating strength.
