The invention relates to a travel-direction switch with automatic resetting for motor vehicles with a housing, with a switching member which is displaceable by an actuating lever out of a neutral switched-off position into two engaged switched-on positions, with a catch path and at least one spring-loaded catch element which are arranged in an interacting manner on the housing and on the switching member, with a resetting member which has a release device and which is held longitudinally displaceably as well as laterally pivotably in relation to the control column and aligned with the latter by means of a spring device, and with a resetting cam which follows the movement of the control column and into the path of movement of which the release device of the resetting member projects in the switched-on position. The invention is characterised in that the resetting member 10 has on its end of the release device 23 facing away from the control column 12 two mutually opposite support shoulders 21 for a T-shaped lever 16 which rests thereon in a spring-loaded manner with its legs 20 and which is guided centrally on one side via a pin 18 engaging in a slot 19 in the housing 1 and on the other side via a pin 17 engaging in a catch cam 9 in the switching member 2 and the web 31 of which is assigned two opposite stop cams 32 on the switching member 2. <IMAGE>
