The system contains in the entry checking device (10 and Figure 2) a magazine (36) with a store (37) of parking tickets which were individually marked before being inserted into the magazine. The entry checking device also contains a reader (39) which interacts with an electrical central unit (13) in order to store the marking of each parking ticket issued and its time of issue. The cash register (12) of the system contains a reader which, when a parking ticket is inserted, calls up the associated time of issue and calculates the parking fee from the time difference. After the fee has been paid, the time of issue is erased in the memory and the time of payment is stored. The exit checking device (11) contains another reader which calls up the time of payment when the parking ticket is inserted and opens the exit barrier (16) when the time interval between the time of insertion and the time of payment is with a predetermined tolerance time. The system does not contain any mechanical punching mechanisms which considerably reduces its production costs, simplifies maintenance and increases operational reliability. <IMAGE>
