PURPOSE:To suppress the propagation period of a data error to the minimum in case when the band compression of a data is executed, by adding a bit for showing whether it is large or small to a prescribed value, for each transmitting data, and transmitting it. CONSTITUTION:DPCM data are W0-Wn-1, and additional bits for showing whether a sampled data is a + level or a - level are M0-Mn-1. In the (i-1)-th data block, a data to be transmitted in W1 and W5 is varied from negative to positive or from positive to negative, and also in W0 and W7 in the i-th data block, and in W3 in the (i+1)-th block, positive and negative of the data are varied, respectively. An error is generated in W2 in the (i-1)-th block, and thereafter, when a restored data is set to '0' in W5 after three sampling periods, the restored data is corrected to a data being approximate to the original signal. In the (i) block, after two sampling period after an error is generated in W5, and in the (i+1) block, after one sampling period, the restored data is set to '0' and corrected, respectively.
