The invention provides a process for the preparation of a polysaccharide aqueous solution which comprises aerobically fermenting an assimilable carbohydrate source with a polysaccharide producing microorganism of the succinoglucan type, in an aqueous nutrient medium, characterised by adding cellulose to the fermentation broth, and use of resulting solutions in enhanced oil recovery operations. |
