The invention relates to a process for the production of high-strength steel cords by means of high-speed double-twist stranding machines. The aim of the invention is to improve the quality of the steel cords, produced on double-twist stranding machines, in the sector of secondary treatment. The object is, therefore, to develop a process by which the tensile stress caused by the pull is reduced by a specific amount before entry into the secondary treatment devices and newly built-up stress states are not transmitted from one device to the other. In the solution for achieving this object, the cord pulled out of the stranding machine by a double-pulley draw-off is laid in a plurality of turns round the draw-off pulleys, is partially relieved of stress by means of an abrupt reduction in diameter of the draw-off pulleys, in this state is fed to an overwinding device, is thereafter guided again by way of the double-pulley draw-off having the smaller pulley diameter into a straightening stage, and is guided back from this to the double-pulley draw-off and from here, by way of a deflection block, to the winder.
|
