The arrangement involves a gate (6) which moves vertically to close an opening (5). A position control mechanism is provided for the bridge (13) which pivots it between a drawn-in position coinciding with the contour of the lifting bed (8), and one extended to the load platform of a lorry. In the extended position, the bridge can be freely coupled to pivot around its fixed horizontal axis on the lifting bed. A drive mechanism for the bed (6) is connected to the bridge positioning device so that the bridge is locked in the inwardly pivoted position when the port is below a certain level. In the outwardly pivoted position,the bridge has a lower limit position which, when reached, causes the bridge to revert to its inwardly pivoted position. |
