Combustion chamber for IC-engine

The ic-engine has a cylinder with a piston (2) connected to a crankshaft and a cylinder head (5) in which is formed a pre-combustion chamber (6) with a fuel injector (7). The chamber has an outlet (8) forming a nozzle with an outlet passage (9) to a main combustion chamber (12). At the TDC position of the piston, a projection on the piston crown enters the outlet passage of the precombustion chamber. The ratio of the dia. of the piston projection and chamber is between .85 and .95. The atomising holes in the fuel injector are at an angle of 60-80 degrees w.r.t. the axis of the cylinder.
