The invention relates to a device for the contact-free stabilisation, supporting and/or drying of a moving web, especially a web of paper or the like. The device is composed of one or more blowing box (10) or blowing boxes (10A, 10B, 10C) which essentially extend over the entire width (L0) of the web (W) to be supported and into which blowing air can be introduced. The box (10) is composed of a supporting surface which is adapted to the web (W) to be supported and onto which jets (Fa, Fb) of air are blown from the aforementioned boxes, vacuum-guiding, contact-free supporting of the web (W) being effected by means of the said jets (Fa, Fb). On the supporting surface of the blowing box (10) there are present two blowing air nozzles (16a, 16b) which blow in mutually opposite directions and on which there are situated essentially level supporting surfaces (13a, 13b) which extend over the opposite edge regions of the blowing box (10) and on which low pressure areas (Ka, Kb) which support the web (W) are produced by means of the aforementioned blowing devices (Fa, Fb). Between the aforementioned supporting surfaces (13a, 13b) there is situated an intermediate surface (14, 14a, 14b) at a considerable distance (H) from the supporting plane (C-C) of the said surfaces (13a, 13b) on the side of the blowing box (10), in the case of which surface (14, 14a, 14b) the length (A) of the low pressure region (A-) to be ejected onto this surface is essentially larger in the running direction of the web (W) than the corresponding width (B) of the aforementioned supporting surfaces (13a, 13b). <IMAGE> |
