PURPOSE:To enable an entire outer circumferential surface of a container to be used as a heat exchanging surface and to improve an efficiency of heat exchange by a method wherein heat pipes are arranged at the outer circumference of a container which is divided into a low temperature portion and a hot temperature portion by a partition plate. CONSTITUTION:An interior of a cylindrical container 1 is divided by a partition plate 2 into a low temperature part 11 and a hot temperature part 12, a plurality turns of heat pipes, for example, about ten turns thereof are wound on an outer circumference of the cylindrical container 1 and all the outer circumferential surface of the container 1 are used as a heat exchanging surface. In this case, the outside part is covered by a thermal insulation material. A plurality of such formed heat exchanger units are collected and, as required, a plurality of heat exchanger units are connected to form the heat exchanger. As regards the shape of the container 1, its cylindrical container has been described, and it may also be possible to employ a square or other shapes except the cylindrical shape. However, the cylindrical shape is preferable if a characteristic of movement of working liquid in the heat pipes and a workability in machining of the heat pipes are taken into consideration.
