A filter for purifying air or other gaseous media comprises an annular filter wall (1) defining a cavity (4), and an inlet opening (7) to the cavity in which there are provided a plurality of flexible strips (10) which are fixedly mounted at one end in connection with the inlet opening and are freely movable at the opposite end and serve to mechanically work the filter wall so as to counteract premature clogging thereof. The inlet opening (7), like the filter wall (1), is annular and radially spaced from the filter wall. The flexible strips, at least when air is flowing through the filter, extend substantially radially with their free ends in contact with the filter wall. |
