PURPOSE:To enable a reinforcing work and an expensive base work performed for each of a turbine and a condenser to be eliminated by a method wherein at least a part of a base structure for a steam turbine is utilized as a part of the condenser or a part of the reinforcing member in combination. CONSTITUTION:Steel columns 6 serve as a supporting column for use in supporting a base block 4 on which a turbine 2 and a power generater 3 are mounted. These supporting columns are also a structural member for the corner parts of the condenser 1. With such a structure, supporting columns 6 supporting the base block 4 on which the turbine 2 and the power generater 3 are mounted are utilized as a structural member for the condenser 1, thereby the base concrete member which is required to support the load of the condenser 1 can be eliminated, and at the same time the condenser 1, its side surfaces and the floor reinforcing member may act as the reinforcing member for the frame structure constituted by the base block 4 and the supporting columns 6, so that the small sized supporting columns 6 can be used.
