PURPOSE:To obtain a high quality image, by inputting a calibration signal for changing the input level of a receiving part to the receiving part and performing the calibration of the saturation level and linearity of the receiving part and utilizing the calibration signal at the time of the processing of an image on the earth. CONSTITUTION:A duplexer 12 sends the transmission signal being the output signal of a power amplifier 14 to an antenna part 11 which, in turn, emits the transmission signal being the output signal of the duplexer 12 to the earth and receives the reflected signal from the earth to sent the receiving signal (reflected signal) to the duplexer 12. The duplexer 12 divides the transmission signal being the output signal of the power amplifier 14, the calibration signal being the output signal of an analogue attenuator 18 and the receiving signal from the antenna part 11. The calibration signal a data containing the characteristics of a radar apparatus, for example, informations of the linearity and saturation level of a receiving part 13 to be used in the processing of an image on the earth.
