PURPOSE:To amplify the constitution of a microprocessor itself and to reduce the chip size by using a simplified additional circuit to stop the clock and transmitting the clock stopping timing to a clock generating circuit. CONSTITUTION:A microprocessor 15 consists of a CMOS circuit and the clock is supplied to a clock input terminal CLK of the processor 15 from a clock generating circuit 16. Then a microprocessor stop request signal is supplied to the processor 15. Thus a clock stop signal CLS is supplied to a control input terminal 16a of the circuit 16 from a power supply terminal 15a of the processor 15. Then the clock supply is stopped to the processor 15. The processor 15 consists of an FF 17 which supplies an initialization signal-RESET and a signal VSS/-PS, an AND gate 24 which supplies the output of the FF 17 and the signal VSS/-PS and an instruction executing circuit 25. Thus the constitution of the processor 15 itself is simplified together with the reduction of chip size of the processor 15. |
