PURPOSE:To confirm accurately the form of an object and the position of an attached label without stopping the movement of a traveling object, by correcting pictures distorted by the movement of the object and given from a visual input device and securing the picture processing accuracy equal to that obtained with a still picture. CONSTITUTION:An object 3 set on a check line 1 is moved at a speed (v) and the image of a label 6 attached to the object 3 is fetched by a processor 8 via visual input device 2. Then the position of the label 6 is checked. A speed detector 7 detects the speed (v) of the line 1 and sends the detection signal to the processor 8. The speed signal (v) is supplied to a vector calculating circuit 22 after A/D conversion 21 and decomposed into speed components Vx and Vy of (x) and (y) directions respectively. These components Vx and Vy are supplied to an address generating circuit 23 and the address of a pipeline memory 13 is controlled by the output of the circuit 23. Thus the input picture is corrected in response to the components Vx and Vy and therefore the relative shift degree of the picture is equal to that obtained when a still picture is supplied.
