发明名称 THERMAL RECORDING MATERIAL
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material with a remarkably high sensitivity, by incorporating a specified 1,4-dihydroxynaphthalene compound into a thermal color forming layer. CONSTITUTION:A 1,4-dihydroxynaphthalene compound of general formula (I), wherein each of R1 and R2 is hydrogen, 1-4C alkyl, phenyl or benzyl, and R3 is hydrogen or benzyl, is incorporated into a thermal color forming layer, in a thermal recording material in which a thermal color forming layer comprising a normally colorless or light-colored leuco dye and a color developer capable of developing the color of the dye when being heated as main constituents is provided on a base. The compound has a low melting point of 70-120 deg.C, is melted in the temperature range to accelerate melting of the color developer and the leuco dye, and is excellent in compatibility with the two components, so that it can markedly enhance the dynamic color forming sensitivity of the thermal recording material.
