PURPOSE:To assign a series of addresses to every storage unit automatically by providing a memory card with an adding circuit which adds 1 to the contents of an address register and a circuit which inhibits the addition. CONSTITUTION:When an address A of a storage unit is inputted to the register 11 of a memory card 1, the address A is supplied to an address 11 and also inputted to the adding circuit 12. An inhibition signal is not set in the inhibiting circuit, so the adding circuit 12 adds 1 to the input address A and inputs the result to the register 21 of a memory card 2 connected to the next stage. The address A+1 is stored in a register 21 as the address of the memory card 2. An inhibition signal is set in an inhibiting circuit 23, so an adding circuit 22 outputs the address A+1 to the memory card 3 as the further next stage without adding 1.
