PURPOSE:To provide a fluororubber composition having excellent compression set, mechanical properties and moldability, by compounding a fluororubber with a substance selected from bivalent metal oxide, etc., and a polyhydroxy aromatic compound, etc. CONSTITUTION:100pts.(wt.) of a fluororubber is compounded with (A) 2-30pts. of one or more compounds selected from bivalent metal oxide, bivalent metal hydroxide, and a mixture of a weak acid and said metal oxide or metal hydrox ide, (B) 0.14n10pts. of a polyhydroxy aromatic compound (e.g. bisphenol A), (C) 0.01-10pts. of one or more compounds selected from 1,8-diaza-bicyclo(5,4,0) undecene-7 (abbreviated as DBU), a salt or mixture of DBU and phenol, and a salt or mixture of DBU and octylic acid, and (D) 0.1-10pts. of an organic carboxylic acid and/or organic carboxylic acid anhydride. The mixture is kneaded and subjected to the primary vulcanization and then the secondary vulcanization.
