PURPOSE:To enable the welding of the long sized body to be welded with simple construction by performing a linear welding by the welding section memory circuit storing the section equivalent to the welding length of the body to be welded even in the OFF state of the power source of the control device after detection of a welding start point detector. CONSTITUTION:A driving motor 13 is normally rotated by outputting a nomal rotation signal to a driving motor normal and abnormal rotations circuit 21 from main control circuit 17 after actuation. A welding starting signal is inputted through a welding start point limit switch 8 and the switching terminal 14 for continuous welding while a welding torch 5 is advanced at high speed by the nomal rotation of the motor 13 and the welding section equivalent to the welding length of the body to be welded is stored by a welding section memory circuit 16. The rotation of the motor 13 is thus stopped by the circuit 17, also the welding is started by welding control circuit 18 and the rotation of the motor 13 is started after a fixed time by delay circuit 19. As a result, the welding is performed at the optimal welding torch travelling speed for the welding result of the by to be welded. In case of the power source of the control device being cut OFF on the way of welding the rotation of the motor 13 is stopped and the welding is stopped.
