PURPOSE:To discharge automatically water when the concn. of impurities in raw water is increased to more than a specified value by opening a water discharge passage at the bottom part of a raw water vessel by the signal outputted when the level of raw water is decreased to less than a specified value and the signal of a drain temp. detector outputted when the temp. is lowered to less than a set value. CONSTITUTION:Ice is made by using a cooler 9 while circulating raw water in a raw water vessel 2. A device E for freeing ice blocks, a freshwater vessel 3 for storing freed ice blocks and a heater 15 for melting ice blocks stored in the freshwater vessel 3 are provided in the ice-making type freshwater generator. A drain temp. detector 13 for detecting raw water at the bottom and a detector 11 for detecting the level of raw water are provided in the raw water vessel 2 and a control valve 14 is furnished in a water discharge passage 12. Moreover, a control circuit for opening the water discharge passage 12 by the signal outputted when the level is lowered to less than a set value and the signal of the detector 13 outputted when the temp. is lowered to less than a specified value is provided. Consequently, water is automatically discharged when the concn. of impurities in raw water in the raw water vessel is increased to more than a specified value.
